A bed is a piece of furniture upon which or within which a person sleeps, rests, or stays when not well:the mattress and bedclothes together with the bedstead of a bed.
- Clear the bed.
- Put the fitted sheet on.
- Put the top sheet on.
- Make hospital corners.
- Place the duvet or comforter on top.
- Fold the top sheet and duvet down.
- Fluff the pillows.
- Add the finishing touches.
Blankets and comforters should be washed about once per season. Between washings, you can toss them in the dryer on high (or hot) for between 10 to 15 minutes to eradicate any critters. A lot of people never think about washing their pillows, but they should be laundered about once or twice per year.
- Buy two or three sets of good quality sheets.
- Dry bed linen thoroughly before storage.
- Use a laundry liquid with added softener.
- Try using fabric sprays to freshen your sheets.
- Don’t skip washing your bed sheets.

It’s a good idea to also vacuum the mattress at least once a month. Dust, dander, and dust mites build up in your mattress. Even those of us without allergies can begin to notice dust and dirt in our mattress. Vacuum your mattress using the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner.vacuum possibly more often in areas of high traffic. When cleaning your bedroom, vacuum from the inside out so that you’re not stepping over newly vacuumed areas.
- Light as air. Whenever possible, use your muscles (along with a friend’s) and get the mattress outside for some air.
- Freshen up. During your next regular sheet change, remove the sheets, including the mattress cover, and sprinkle baking soda over the top of the mattress.
- Spruce it up.
- Clean it up.
